I would respond that firstly, everyone does some kind of work on their bodies. Be it going to the gym, not going to the gym, getting tattoos, piercings, hair implants or hair growth drugs, or even just choosing what they wear and how they wear it - it all makes me wonder, well why should there be some link between someone's genitals and their gender expression? Why is it really anyone else's business if someone wants to get a mastectomy?

Secondly however, is also that regardless of what someone can do for themselves to feel comfortable and happy, there is also the case that people want to be treated by others as the gender they are, and unfortunately most don't live in a society that allows for that kind of treatment. If you want to be treated as a man, you need to look like a man. We don't live in a post heteronormative society yet, should we really be judging the people most harmed by cis-heteronormativity for not overcoming it and just, sucking it up... ?
